Novena Day 1: THE CHURCH’S EUCHARISTIC FAITH

Let us begin: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O Lord Jesus Christ, You, who have given us Your precious Body and Blood to be our food and drink, grant that through frequent reception of You in the Holy Eucharist, I may be strengthened in mind and body to do Your holy will. Amen.

"This is the work of God: that you believe in him whom he has sent." (Jn 6:29) The Faith of the Church is essentially a Eucharistic Faith that is nourished at the table of the Lord.

The Sacrament of the Eucharist is always at the heart of the Church’s life. “Thanks to the Eucharist, the Church is reborn ever anew!” (Pope Benedict XVI) The livelier the eucharistic faith of the People of God, the deeper will be the sharing in the life of the Church and her steadfast commitment to the mission entrusted by Jesus to his disciples.

I thank you, Jesus, my Divine Redeemer, for coming upon this earth for our salvation, and for instituting the Sacrament of the Most Holy Eucharist in order to remain with us until the end of the world.

O Sacrament most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, all praise and all thanksgiving be every moment Thine. Pray One Our Father... one Hail Mary and one Glory Be..for the intentions of our Holy Father, Pope Francis.

Let us pray: O Jesus, since You have left us a remembrance of Your Passion in the Sacrament of the Eucharist, grant us, we pray, so to venerate the sacred mysteries of Your Body and Blood that we may always enjoy the fruits of Your Redemption, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
