ENTRANCE ANTIPHON: Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, rejoice. Indeed, the Lord is near. FIRST READING: Isaiah 61:1-2,10-11.

My soul shall exult in my God.

1. My soul magnifi es the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. ℟

2. For he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. And his mercy is on those who fear him from generation to generation. ℟

3. He has fi lled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent empty away, He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy. ℟

SECOND READING: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION: Alleluia, alleluia! The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; he has sent me to preach good news to the poor. Alleluia.

GOSPEL: John1:6-8,19-28.

My Jesus,

I believe that you are present

in the Most Holy Sacrament.

I love You above all things,

and I desire to receive You in my soul.

Since I cannot at this moment

receive You sacramentally,

come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if You were already there

and unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from You.

COMMUNION ANTIPHON: Say to the faint of heart: Be strong and do not fear. Behold, our God will come, and he will save us
