TGIF! Thank Goodness it’s Friday

Good morning.

Whoever said “Change is as good as a holiday” hadn’t lived through a Covid-19 pandemic! But change there is – and we have some more.

Firstly, you will have noticed that this is not Fr James’ video that we usually put out on Fridays. We will most likely only post this on Saturdays in future.

Secondly, the recorded Mass that you will receive this weekend will not include the responses and Spiritual Communion prayer. We ask that you refer to the parish bulletin, which will be posted tomorrow, for the Mass parts and we will publish the prayer separately on this website.

All this is to prepare for the move to recording the Sunday 9a.m. Mass in the future. This will mean that, should you not be in a position to attend Mass physically yet, you will still be able to unite in a more meaningful way with the congregation. Regrettably, this means that the Mass will only be available online from Sunday morning after the conclusion of the 9a.m. Mass and not on Saturday evening, as in the past. It will then be accessible for the rest of the week, should you not be able to watch it on Sunday.

The organ is in the final stages of installation and I am sure that Fr James will want to show it to you as soon as it is complete. We trust that you will flock to join the choir(s) as soon as you can so that the instrument can enjoy worthy accompaniment. Remember that St Augustine told us that “to sing well is to pray twice”. One can’t help but be moved by beautiful music.

That’s all for the time being. Have a wonderful and restful weekend.

God bless and stay well. Dc Mike & the team.
